I went to Blue Plate Taco during DineLA with a friend and my hubby. The price looked too good to be true, so we thought the portions would be smaller than the regular ones... boy were we wrong!
Its located right near the Santa Monica pier on Ocean Ave. The patio in the winter is protected from cool ocean breeze and is filled with hip people starting their evening off right. It can get a bit loud and the tables are very close together.
We decided to order guacamole and a pitcher of Margaritas to start our evening off right. The Margaritas were perfectly tart and the guacamole was creamy and flavorful on the perfectly salted chips.
Next came out our starters from the DineLA menu. I went with the Ceviche made with lobster, calamari, shrimp, and pomegranate seeds. The portion was very generous and the seafood was super fresh. I'm definitely coming back just for this. My entree was the steak fajitas that came out sizzling - as they should. The steak was cooked beautifully. I put some o
f the guacamole onto the fajitas which took it to the next level. Our DineLA menu ended with some creamy gelato. I admit I'm skeptical about gelato from anywhere besides a Gelateria, but this gelato made me eat my words. I went with the strawberry gelato which was perfectly balanced with its sweetness.
